Stop the Clippers Arena
Leading environmental groups, state legislators and local residents all agree
The Los Angeles Clippers arena plan will damage the environment and harm the Inglewood community.
Crippling
Traffic Congestion
From 4 million
more cars
Increased Air
Pollution
From 3,400 tons
of pollutants
More Greenhouse
Gas Emissions
From 550,000 metric
tons of GHGs
You can make a difference by asking Governor Newsom to reject special treatment for this irresponsible plan.
The Clippers are attempting to rush through a reckless, irresponsible proposal that would threaten the Inglewood community and region.
The Clippers made clear, specific promises to protect Inglewood residents and the environment as part of a special law created just for them, AB 987. These promises to the community would allow their arena project to receive fast-tracked environmental review only if it meets the additional environmental requirements mandated by the special law. But the Clippers’ plan comes nowhere close to fulfilling their promises or meeting the standards of the law.
THE CLIPPERS ARENA WOULD BE AN ENVIRONMENTAL DISASTER
Relentless Gridlock
Weakening California’s Fight Against Climate Change
Overwhelming the Community
Opposed By Thousands of Neighbors
Elevated Air Pollution
THE CLIPPERS ARENA WOULD THREATEN INGLEWOOD
Nights a Year of Events
Million Additional Cars in Inglewood
Tons of New Air Pollution
%
Local Greenhouse Gas Reductions
WOULD BE BUILT RIGHT NEXT TO A RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD.

The Facts Speak For Themselves:
Inglewood Can’t Handle Another Arena
OVERWHELMING DEVELOPMENT
A new Clippers arena would be the third large-scale venue in Inglewood – for a total of three venues within a mile that have a combined capacity of more than 100,000 attendees — plus a massive, still-to-be-built, mixed-use development.

6,000-seat performance venue
1.5 million sf of retail & office space
2,500 homes

MILLIONS
MORE CARS
These current and future developments are projected to bring 23 million more cars to Inglewood every year.
The Forum
2 million vehicle trips
Football stadium
1.2 million vehicle trips1
Hollywood Park project
16 million vehicle trips1
Clippers arena (proposed)
An additional 3.8 million vehicle trips2
In addition, Inglewood already has a parking shortage, which will only get worse with the addition of a new arena.
CRIPPLING TRAFFIC CONGESTION
Freeway access to Inglewood is drastically constrained1
Inglewood’s major venues are accessible from just 3 primary roads – Century Blvd., Manchester Ave., Prairie Ave.
There are no nearby rail stations, and the Crenshaw light-rail station under construction is more than 1 mile away
The current expansion of LAX (4 miles away) is expected to push even more traffic toward Inglewood
Access to Inglewood’s major venues is severely limited, leading to crippling traffic congestion
HEALTH HAZARDS
This massive traffic inflow will result in dangerous levels of pollution, right next to the homes of Inglewood residents. Experts estimate3:
550,000 metric tons of greenhouse gases2
3,400 tons of air pollutants4
1,600 tons of toxic air contaminants4
Experts have conclusively linked air pollution to higher levels of asthma and other health ailments. Learn more
HARMFUL FOR INGLEWOOD
The Clippers arena will negatively impact a residential neighborhood full of homes and apartments, and the entire Inglewood community.
Inglewood population: 109,419, including 26,807 children, 12,583 seniors and 21,993 living in poverty5
